Every member of staff that dealt with me was friendly, attentive and helpful. I have no complaints at all.

Suggested improvements
Hard question to answer. The were a few occasions when assistance was a little slow to arrive, but I do acknowledge the difficulties of the Job.

Review of Neonatal QMC
13th February 2024

I have to say we have had a really good neonatal journey. We have been treated fairly and have always been involved in his care at every opportunity. Although I’m a member of the team I was never treated any differently to any other mum.

Suggested improvements
Communication is a factor that does need to improve overall. Another issue that came up at discharge that was never mentioned before is because my son is set in oxygen he shouldn’t be going home with an NGT, now this was never mentioned at any point when discharge was discussed and not even at the discharge planning meeting. I think things need to be clearly explained to parents and what expectations are at discharge. We only found this out as we were being discharged, which is a huge disappointment - and it now means we may have a social services referral if his NGT remains in situ for more than 2 weeks. So again communication really does need to be improved massively.
